Hi Jack. Yeah that's kind of a silly conversion. I think I'll remove 'euro' but keep 'euros' in the EUR symbol list. Thanks!

There's a great bug (if you could call it that) where the European football competition called 'Euro ' e.g. Euro 2004, is called '£ 1,363.84 (Euro 2004)'

Hi, I've found this extension very handy but... I live in Poland so it would be great if this extension shows polish currency (PLN) also. I know this means the extension has to get the currency from some source but I think it would be great if there was an option to put your own currency rate and name it (PLN) ;-). Then you can find the actual rate on the Internet and update manualy the extension data.
After all, it is a great extension, very usefull. Thanks and have a nice time working on updates ;-)

Hi Mark. Thanks for pointing out yet another currency format!
As a work-around you can always use the right-click Convert Text feature and simply delete the dot hyphen.

I have found a site that displays amounts as 24.- EUR, the hyphen seems to upset VMC and no conversion is done. I do not know how usual this is, those Europeans are a funny bunch. URL is https://ssl.rapidshare.de/en/premium.html
Other than that this is a great extension, thanks for your work on this.

Paco: inverse conversions aren't supported yet. Another neat feature to add to the to-do list!

Thank you for your swift response!
Well, when I press Ctrl-Shft-T a abr appears just over the status bar. It has a X (close) sign, a combo box prefixed by "From:" when I can select all the currencies I have in preferences (USD, EUR, GBP, ...), a text box where I can type (but that sometimes appears full of text from the page I am watching...), another combo box where I can select only XXX or EUR (I can type "GBP" there, but then gives the error I said) and then a text box where the converted text appears. Of course, I can type "$12,23 13,22GBP 156.3JPY" and it gets converted to "€9.97 ($12,23) 19.22€ (13,22GBP) 1.1097€ (156.3JPY)" that is REALLY cool :-) but I do not know how to do directly an inverse conversion, that is, "how many GBP are 19,22EUR?"

Hi Paco, thanks for the feedback. You get the error because the Convert Text works just like the automatic conversion. It's limited to "my currency" and the "recognised currencies". (You can change these in the Options dialog)

But it would be cool if the Convert Text feature could automatically suck in new rates if you typed a new currency code. I'll think about this for a future release. Good idea!

First, thanks for a great extension. I've found what I think is a bug. In "Convert Text..." (Ctrl+Shift+T), the selection box only lets me select between EUR (my own currency) or XXX. If I write specifically GBP (to convert a given amount of € to GBP), an "Invalid currency symbol" error appears.

Great Extension, but I experienced problem in the Australian Web sites. They use the abbreviation " AUD $", instead of A$, so that the conversion is made from the value in US$ instead of A$.
